DTI Rapid Growth Project

DTI Rapid Growth Project

Launched in 2019, the Rural Agro-enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth or the RAPID Growth Project aims to stimulate agro-enterprise development in rural areas.  Anchored on selected Value Chains, it adopts a whole-of-government approach in the delivery of services, expands economic opportunities, creates more agro-enterprises, particularly in the rural areas, and facilitates easy access to market, and technology transfer, financing, and other business development support services.

Project Goal

The Project’s development goal is to increase the income level of small farmers and unemployed rural women and men across a selected agri-based value chain.

Project Priority Areas

Supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) through a US$62.9M loan and US$2.5M grant components, RAPID covers 21 provinces in 7 regions nationwide.  The selection was based on the growth potential of the selected priority agricultural value chains in the area, poverty incidence, and cluster operational efficiency considerations.

Funding Partners

The project’s total cost is PhP 4.781B, taking into account the counterparts from the Government of the Philippines (GoP); Local Government Units (LGUs); Financial Service Providers (FSP) provide financing support to cover the counterpart of the project beneficiaries for the matching grant and the equity participation of project beneficiaries.
